PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS

We will conduct high-quality workshops on hand hygiene technique to healthcare professionals. They will teach the Wolrd Helath Organization standards on hand hygiene. These will be used in combination with survey research.
SURVEY RESEARCH
​
This is an observational study which uses surveys supplied by WHO to assess the perception of hand washing amongst foreign medical health professionals in the medical care setting. It consists of assessing perception with pre- and post- surveys.
CLINIC EDUCATION
​
Calcutta has patient clinics in both rural and urban regions. We will conduct a brief education program for patients attending the clinics. The program will teach patient proper hand hygiene techniques. We will conduct survey research to measure efficacy of program.
PROTOCOL PROPOSAL
​
​ We will examine current health and safety protocols at local Calcutta hospitals including how to amend current policy. We will then write protocols that meet the WHO criteria for hand hygiene and recommend these hospitals adopt these standards.
