Process
The World Health Organization (WHO) released meta-literature on hand hygiene techniques in 2009. (1) We will create a workshop curriculum based on this literature. (2) We will then test this curriculum in focus groups. Mercy Hospital hosts weekly meetings for physicians and nurses at which we will hold a workshop. (3) In April 2015 we will host workshops at a few of these meetings.
Challenges
(1) Indian medical culture is resistant to change. (2) The workshops must be given in English and native tongue. (3) The workshop needs to create long-term momentum to be effective.
